CEDIA 2016 is coming to Dallas on September 13-17. CE Pro spoke to Joe Piccirilli, managing director and CEO, RoseWater Energy Group, about the company’s plans for the show and what to expect in booth #6610.
For those looking to become a dealer, contact Joe directly at joepic@rosewaterenergy.com.
What would you say to dealers who are already familiar with your product line?
For dealers that are familiar with our product but have not yet become a dealer, we invite them to be a part of our program while the energy storage market continues to grow.
There is a significant potential for the residential energy storage because people see the growing need for 24/7 power and the opportunity to “insure” the many devices they have invested a significant amount of money in. The market has already taken off and it will continue to grow. We have already experienced great sales, meeting all of our goals, in the last year. We hope the residential energy storage market continues to rise. Why not get ahead of the game and join us now?
What would you say to dealers who are stumbling across your company for the first time?
The Energy Management HUB is ideal for users that understand the value of protecting their electronics. Our Energy Management HUB is relatable to an insurance policy and if users are going to invest a significant amount into their home technology, they need to invest further to protect those technologies. Many people will spend thousands of dollars in security systems, audio products, televisions, home theaters and home automation, but they’re missing the final and most important component – a protection plan.
Since the inception of RoseWater Energy Group, we have put a lot of focus towards AV integrators and CEDIA professionals because we are interested in building a reputable team of dealers. We believe that the HUB is the next great opportunity for the CI professional within intelligent energy management and security channels. In addition, we’re committed to helping our dealers increase profitability, which is why we introduced a floor planning program in November of 2015. We want to provide our dealers with a successful and reliable business opportunities, as well as see our dealers get excited about this product.
If an integrator stops by your booth with only 5 minutes to spare, what’s the one product he should examine or one question he should ask?
I’d invite those visiting our booth to check out the Energy Management HUB, the only unit of its kind currently on the market, and learn more about the recent updates that have been made to the Energy Management HUB. We’ll be featuring major enhancements, which were inspired by recent installs that were performed within the last year.
The Energy Management HUB has been reengineered with an updated configuration to include more kilowatt hours and we’ve created the Extra Battery Pack (EBP), a supplemental battery for HUB owners looking for additional power. In addition, we’ve also begun testing on a new ‘Time of Use’ algorithm which will allow HUB owners utilize a tiered power charging cycle. The new software will enable users to utilize the HUB’s power during the day, when energy prices have spiked, and recharge in the middle of the night, when energy prices are lower.
What’s your most memorable CEDIA moment?
My most memorable CEDIA moment comes from my years of participation in CEDIA Educational Programs. Over the years, many former students have emphasized the positive impact I’ve had on their careers through the CEDIA Programs. For me, there is no greater feeling than knowing that I have helped someone further their career in an industry that has done so much for me.
Course Offerings at CEDIA
At CEDIA 2016, I’ll be presenting a Manufacturer Product Training and a CEDIA Course.
At our Manufacturer Product Training on Friday, September 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., attendees can expect to learn why and how they can take advantage of the new product opportunity presented by the RoseWater Energy Management HUB.
At my CEDIA course on Friday, September 16th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., I hope to teach attendees about the role of the technologists and CI professional in the intelligent energy management market, a market that is continuously growing and gaining momentum. Both courses will emphasize the amazing opportunity we have created for technologists and we invite those attending CEDIA to participate in one of our courses, even if they aren’t familiar with the HUB.
Do you have any giveaways, contests or quirky features planned for CEDIA?
We’re hosting an integrator reception at our booth on Thursday, September 15th and Friday, September 16th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and we invite attendees to join us at our booth to enjoy a beer while learning more about the HUB, recent installation and potential business opportunities with RoseWater.
Think of your closest competitor. What is one thing you do offer that they don’t?
The Energy Management Hub is truly the only product of its kind on the market, our closest competitor would be Tesla and its Powerwall. The Tesla Powerwall is a product that is geared more towards peak sharing and solar storage, two features that are aimed more at reducing utility bills than power quality and back up.
While I believe that Tesla will do very well in that subsidized part of the market, we’ve decided to focus more on the entirety of the critical load, adding necessary features like power conditioning and a zero transfer time UPS. Our feature rich system gives the owner much more flexibility as well with respect to what it can do and when it can do it. We have deliberately chosen to focus on nonsubsidized markets as we believe those markets are the only ones that give the opportunity for true and lasting growth.
