The RoseWater Energy HUB stands between your sensitive electronics and the harmful effects ‘dirty power’ from the grid or generators can have. It provides back-up power, so when the grid goes down, your devices that are powered by the HUB do not power down until the battery power is exhausted. The HUB can also accept power from a renewable energy source so that if grid power is down the batteries can be charged. It is important to know some of the basics of the system in order to use it to your greatest advantage.
When grid power is available, the RoseWater HUB creates nearly perfect power from the power supplied by the utility. Utility power is generated at a plant, distributed to substations, then finally delivered to your home – a journey that is hundreds of miles long. It is virtually impossible for a utility to deliver clean power.
Some loads are unaffected by the irregularities of line power. Your toaster does not care if the input power has more distortion than usual, it will still make toast. Your shaver will still have the desired effect if the input power is substandard.
But your 4K television is a much more sophisticated device. Your sound system will not perform at peak if it gets a dirty power signal. Noise can wreak havoc on digital systems, ask any technician about electrical noise, interference or dirty power.
Clearly, some loads need a pure power source more than others.
When you invest in a system to provide clean power, you need to plan for proper usage. This means deciding what should get protected and what should not. It should be a fairly short list, not every device needs such special treatment.
What loads are important to protect with a RoseWater HUB?

These loads all have one thing in common. They are all microprocessor controlled. A microprocessor failure will not only prevent you from using the equipment, they also take time to replace, and reprogram.
What types of loads NOT to use on the output of a HUB?
- Space heaters
- Air conditioners
- Motor loads
- Power tools
- Large incandescent lighting systems, such as Christmas or work lights.
All of these items draw a lot of current, and do not benefit greatly from power conditioning. They also negatively affect runtime in an outage. These items can just as easily be plugged in to an outlet that is fed directly from the grid.
Conditioned power is a resource that needs to be properly allotted, only to be used for “critical” loads that you want to protect.
Good Practices for HUB owners
If you have outlets protected by the HUB, you should have a way of marking them so that high consumption items are not inadvertently plugged into them.
If you are adding loads to an existing HUB, check with your dealer installer to make sure you have the capacity to handle them.
In a power outage, do not add loads to the HUB, it will shorten your run time.
Have your HUB inspected by your dealer installer on a yearly basis.
